Effectively Translating Technology and Cyber Risk for the Board

In an environment where security threats are steadily increasing and business dependence on technology and the attendant risks are higher than ever before, practitioners are also having to grapple with dwindling budgets, scarce manpower and the imminent need to ensure the business recognizes and addresses cyber risk before its too late.
It's a boom time for attackers, which means the CISOs need to be prepared to fight against the unknown. But at the same time, we continue to hear that the biggest challenge facing security practitioners in the banking, telecom, government and critical infrastructure sectors are budgets and management buy-in.
How can you transform this narrative? What works and doesn't work? How can the CISO today learn to do well what CIOs have had decades to perfect - speak the language of the business. What kind of reporting needs to happen to the board and how can the business gaps be filled.
