Gauging Equifax's Future in Wake of Massive Breach
Art Coviello and Other Security Experts Analyze the ImpactTop IT security and information risk experts analyze the struggles Equifax faces in the wake of a massive data breach highlights the latest edition of the ISMG Security Report.
"In the case of Equifax, this could be existential to them," says former RSA Executive Chairman Art Coviello, venture partner at Rally Venture. "Come on, their business is selling and managing information about people's identify. You would think that job No. 1 would be to make absolutely sure that something like this never happens."
Coviello's observation came during a panel discussion on the implications of the Equifax breach at Information Security Media Group's Fraud and Breach Prevention Summit in Toronto. Peter Beardmore, RSA's solutions marketing director, and Richard Parry, a former risk management executive at JPMorgan Chase, who now runs his own advisory firm, joined Coviello in the discussion. Joan Goodchild, ISMG's director of multimedia content, was moderator.
Also in the report, you'll hear (click on player to listen):

- About Equifax's colossal blunder in not patching a web application framework that led to the breach, which exposed the personally identifiable information held in 143 million accounts; and
