“The concept of security needs to evolve from a fixed perimeter to a diffuse perimeter, where every identity is a perimeter that you need to secure,” he says in a video interview with Information Security Media Group. “And the same goes for applications. With applications and users being diffuse, the whole concept of security needs to come down to a single user accessing a single app.”

In advance of a series of virtual executive roundtable discussions in Singapore on Aug. 13, Hong Kong on July 08 and Malaysia on July 09, Banerjee discusses:

  • Cybersecurity lessons from the COVID-19 times;
  • Recommendations for how practitioners can deal with disruptions;
  • What changes to expect in cybersecurity.

Banerjee is director transformation strategy for APJ at Zscaler. He has expertise in the banking and finance industry, with experience in driving digital transformation programs, public cloud SaaS adoption and re-architecting network infrastructure for enhanced user productivity with an improved security posture. He has worked in consulting with PwC and ran a CRM automation program across GE Consumer Finance. He also served as the group CTO for a diversified group of businesses.
